My Design Philosophy
Design cannot exist without curiosity. As a child, I loved finding patterns and symmetry everywhere I went, remembering extremely specific details of seemingly random places. My youthful curiosity morphed into questioning - what exactly creates our experiences? I look at the world through an artist's lens and analyze it with a mathematician's thinking. Now that I have studied Environmental Design I can explore my ideas through Architecture and Urban Design.
I believe that first and foremost Architecture should improve life. With every project I take on I explore site qualities and client needs to design spaces that encourage true connection. I design people-focused, site-specific, and sustainable solutions supported by data analysis and physical form exploration.
I am passionate about not only designing buildings but also the spaces inside and in between them. My goal is to create experiences that are designed to improve the lives of everyday people. I focus on crafting environments that facilitate life and human interaction.
I also enjoy discovering the way an environment can shape personal experiences and how people can affect the environment itself. By studying how individuals move through and interact with spaces I can discover what makes a space enjoyable and effective.
My design process includes data collection and analysis, form studies and modeling, and physical and digital deliverables. Each aspect helps me thoroughly explore concepts, provide knowledgeable solutions, and bring my design ideas to life.
